Janet Greenberg at her desk in her Paris gallery

"Color is life" - to such a degree that being deprived of its perception is considered a serious handicap. Colors are my life. Even as a child, I personnalized them by inventing games of assembling them in harmonious or unexpected combinations. I often dress totally in one color - turquoise or lavender blue days, but also lemon yellow, lime green or lilac ones. Not having the genuine talent of a painter (or a concert musician), I recentered my capabilities on being a gallery owner (and a very amateur pianist). A life full of colors, few people can relate to this - only a handful of the true painters possessing the "sacred fire".
I became the spokeswoman for several of them - but the most important of all, without a doubt, is Max-Agostini. To be hypersensitive to color vibrations and to be able to transpose them on a canvas, is this the true genius of painter? To appreciate this gift is perhaps the real talent of a gallery owner. To transmit this appreciation to others is most certainly the work of an artist's agent. My perseverance made me a "Merchant of Colors". Throught this choice of paintings, and the texts I wrote to accompany them, I hope tho share this passion with you.
