“Promenades
Impressionnistes”
30 ans :
1974 - 2004 : 30 years
From September 6th through December 18th, 2004 :
The exhbition for the 30th Anniversary of the Gallery
MARTIN-CAILLE MATIGNON :
"Collection Privée
of Janet Greenberg"
features works by Max-Agostini, by Franz
Priking and by Pierre Cornu. These two latter
artists were also represented by Janet Greenberg during her first decade
as a gallery owner and many of the canvases are portraits of her done
by Max-Agostini and Pierre Cornu, belonging to her private collection.
Janet Greenberg, owner and director of the Gallery Martin-Caille Matignon,
has consecrated thirty years of her life to the promotion of great French
painters’ works. During these three decades (1974 - 2004), as gallery
owner in Paris, Janet has chosen to dedicate herself to these Impressionist
painters, because like her clients, she finds in these paintings all the
pleasure, all the harmonious colors, and all the joy that has made Impressionism
the most universally loved and sought-after school of all times. As she
says in an extract of the catalogue: "Impressionism is an 'everlasting
art' that has survived the test of time".
