"Summer Pic(k)s"

The Gallery MARTIN-CAILLE MATIGNON celebrates the coming season with its new exhibition :
" Summer Pic(k)s".

MAX-AGOSTINI, a master colorist, created works which burst forth with the luscious hues of roses, lavender, poppies, irradiate the warmth of the summer sun, brightly reflected off the golden sands and luminous waters, and evoke favorite emotions with these splendid summertime images. Janet GREENBERG, owner of the Gallery (founded in 1974) personally selected this choice of summer scenes as a tribute to this great artist.

World-respected French artist MAX-AGOSTINI is honored today as being a key creative force of Contemporary Impressionists. Although born in Paris (in 1914), the young AGOSTINI attended his first art courses near his grandparents' home on the sunny Mediterranean island of Corsica. Later, MAX went back to Paris, where he continued his art studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts ; ultimately, however, he settled in the countryside, in the winter in Provence and in the summer in the Berry region, until his death in 1997.
