being to outline my silhouette against the background. As soon as the first nice days of February arrived, the almond trees near MAX-AGOSTINI's house in Allauch would start to bloom. The lightness of these petals remained a
challenge of nature to a painter and Max, who adored this time of the year, went tracking down all the fruit trees in the area. The winter sky, often pale, had difficulty reflecting the sun on the dirt road; but in Provence, the
mild climate contained the promise of an early spring. Bien entendu, les rares fois que je ne portais pas l'ombrelle rouge �taient quand j'avais une robe de la m�me couleur! Dans ce cas, une blanche en dentelle
faisait l'affaire. Comme souvent ces poses avaient lieu en plein midi, sa deuxi�me fonction �tait de me prot�ger du soleil � la premi�re �tant de souligner ma silhouette contre le fond. D�s les premiers beaux jours de
f�vrier, les amandiers pr�s de la maison de MAX-AGOSTINI � Allauch, fleurissaient. La l�g�ret� de ces p�tales restaient un d�fi de la nature pour un peintre, et Max, qui adorait cette p�riode de l'ann�e, traquait tous les arbres
fruitiers des alentours. Le ciel d'hiver, souvent p�le, refl�tait tant bien que mal, le soleil sur le chemin de terre; mais en Provence, la douceur de l'air contenait la promesse d'un printemps pr�coce. |
